This session will include a basic review of respiratory physiology, circulation and metabolism and how this relates to capnography. We will then explore how capnography works and the different types available. Delving into it more we will then look at the various waveforms and what they mean in practice. We will explore capnometry values, why they occur and how it will impact patient care. Finally we will look at the uses of capnography in the prehospital environment arena beyond just conformation of endotracheal tube placement.
