In April, ANZCP sought expressions of interest from members to be appointed as the ANZCP representative on the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC).
The College is pleased to announce Dr Paul Simpson, Director of the Paramedic Program and Senior Lecturer at Western Sydney University, has been appointed to this role. The appointment is for a term of three years.
ARC The ARC is a voluntary co-ordinating body which represents associations with a role in the teaching and practice of resuscitation. One of the primary roles of the ARC is the development of guidelines to meet its objectives in fostering uniformity and simplicity in resuscitation techniques and terminology.
Further information about the aims and objectives of the ARC is available here: https://resus.org.au/about/
ARC Representative The role of the ANZCP representative will be to participate in the development of new ARC guidelines and updates to existing guidelines, which are reviewed and updated on a regular cycle. The ANZCP representative will be expected to contribute to the guideline review process and to make recommendations to the ANZCP Executive regarding draft guidelines to ensure that guidelines are informed by best available evidence.
