College supports Sri Lankan paramedic education

The College was recently honoured to be invited by the Sri Lankan Society of Critical Care and Emergency Medicine to be a part of the faculty supporting the pre hospital care workshop for emergency medical technicians in Colombo, Sri Lanka in early November.

The College had the privilege of working with a multi-disciplinary and multi-nationality group of educators to deliver the first paramedic training program in Sri Lanka. This pilot program combined theory and practical simulation and was well received by the 24 paramedics undertaking the training. The College also met with the national ambulance service, 1990 Suwa Seriya, who are building towards full ambulance coverage of Sri Lanka.

The College was represented by fellow Dr Sanj Fernando, member Steve Angus and General Manager John Bruning.
