Violence against paramedics

The College condemns any and all violence, aggression and abuse directed at paramedics while undertaking their roles.

The recent case of paramedics being assaulted in Victoria, which is garnering much public support, is but one of numerous incidents of assault and violence against paramedics around Australia and New Zealand. Unfortunately the regularity of these events is all too common and no one should expect threats to their personal safety while performing their job.

The College supports the work our ambulance services throughout Australia and New Zealand are undertaking to ensure the safety of their staff.
